in 2020 i invited artists to create a short-film for UrbanArtWeekend @48hNeukölln due to the special conditions of physical distancing during the corona restrictions

EKTA´s work plays against the agreed-upon convention of what is reasonable and generally accepted, expressed through a visual world with a state of mind turned upside down, offering more mood than tangible narrative.
EKTA´s characteristic way of working where the work and their maker submits to the process, and the medium, resulting in an immediate quality of goofiness, stripped of conceptual contrivance. It still remains unclear what his objective is, or if there is one at all. An attitude at the core of the artists work.

MAYA M. CARROLL is an independent choreographer, performer, mentor and teacher, based in Berlin since 2004. In the past fourteen years Maya has created over 30 works from solo to extended group pieces. She has collaborated with artists and performers from diverse backgrounds; dancers, visual artists, poets, musicians, actors, opera singers, stage and light designers.

Peter Behrbohm designs obstacles, digs for narrative fragments, thinks with hands and feet and installs fictions in public spaces. Many of his works surgically intervene in the city and its routines to blend in fiction and political action. (After studies in Berlin and Stockholm, Peter received his diploma degree in architecture. Among others, he has been granted the «BDA-SARP Award» (2014) for the best German graduation project as well as the «MAK Schindler Residency, Los Angeles», given by the Museum of Contemporary Art Vienna (2019).)

Anton Steenbock (1984) lives and works in Berlin Germany is a visual artist. For the past ten years he established a fictitious real estate network called da Silva Brokers which whom he operates in digital and public space. His interventions, consisting of fake architecture campaigns, showrooms and widely spread propaganda aim to trigger political consciousness for urban and environmental changes on hotspots like the world cup 2014 and the Olympic games 2016 in Brazil as well as enterprise acquisitions in public space like Google street view and sharing economy apps such as Uber, Coop and AirBnB. His works where shown among others, in solo exhibitions at the Museum for contemporary art MAC – Rio de Janeiro, Biennale SUR - Argentina, Triennale Frestas - Sao Paulo and the Historisches Museum - Frankfurt / Main.

KRISTOF KOVACS is a media artist based in Budapest, Hungary. In his performance based practice he investigates the relations between action and representation. Working with an experimental approach he explores processes and their effect through various ways of image production.

BALZ ISLER

BALZ ISLER (*1982) Performer, Künstler und Denker, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Er studierte an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg, in Zeitbezogenen Medien bei Marie-José Burki sowie Jeanne Faust und diplomierte 2011 mit Auszeichnung. Balz Isler bewegt sich in der Komposition von Klang und Raum, in Installationen und Performances, in denen er sich mit der heutigen Clip, - und Dokumentarkultur beschäftigt. Er sammelt, überlagert und ordnet neu um, und versucht mittels unterschiedlichen Medien neue Zusammenhänge zu knüpfen. Sie in die „Echtzeit“ zu übersetzten (Paul Virilio), um allenfalls auf neue Bewegungen zu schließen.

NAHO KAWABE, in Japan aufgewachsen, seit 2001 in Hamburg lebend, beschäftigt sich künstlerisch seit mehreren Jahren mit Formen von Grenzen und Energien. Deren verschiedenartigen Erscheinungen wie Fließendes, Flüssiges, Schwebendes, Unruhiges und Bewegungen aller Art werden im Werk von Kawabe mit Materialien wie Wasser, Kohle oder Licht dargestellt.

Ihr Film "Hand" wird ursprünglich mit zwei Projektoren gezeigt, wobei sich die Filme überlagern. Es handelt sich dabei um die gleiche Hand.

COCO BERGHOLM ist eine bildende Künstlerin. In ihren Arbeiten befasst sie sich mit dem öffentlichen Raum als Ort der Kommunikation. Sie thematisiert Fragen, die sich auf Möglichkeiten der Teilhabe, des passiven Widerstands und des Verschwindens beziehen. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
